Marmot eating a carrot

The marmots at Spielboden cable car station, Saas-Fee, Switzerland are tame and used to humans. They are under special protection by the community of Saas-Fee and can be fed with vegetables and fruits such as peanuts (without salt), apples and carrots. It is forbidden to feed these animals with sweeties or sugar-containing food as this might cause skin eczemas and, as a consequence, the animals can die from it during hibernation.
