The Danish Heavy Metal icons Mercyful Fate formed in Copenhagen in 1981 after the dissolution of the band Brats, and during a short span of four years, they changed our perception of metal. They released one EP (Mercyful Fate)and two Full-Length LP’s (Melissa and Don’t Break The Oath) They were fronted by the charismatic King Diamond that laid his falsetto vocals over the riffs from the dynamic duo of Hank Shermann and Michael Denner and Timi Grabber and Kim Ruzz kept the rhythm.
