Chechnya - Independence Day rally

(6 Sep 1996) T/I 10:53:36 Chechen rebel leader Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev, speaking at an Independence Day rally in the capital Grozny on Friday (6/9), said that for the Chechen people, the war was not over. Chechens marked their fifth Independence Day with dancing, singing, eating and demonstrating. Thousands turned out to greet Yandarbiyev as he arrived at the southern village of Sotsy-Yurt. SHOWS:
