чел

Over the past two months - about 45 days I spent recreating one of my greatest memories from gaming history. Just in time to be inspired by all the hype surrounding the release of the second motion picture I decided the best way to overcome my recent and suffocating years of artist block were to take things back to the source. 30 years ago today I picked up a pencil and began to doodle around for the first time at the ripe age of 7. Little did I know it would lead to such a wonderful career in video game art. I owe my whole life to this little blue creature because just playing the first game title on Genesis back in the 90s to the point that I had the curiosity to draw him regularly as an everyday hobby has lead me to the path I am on today as a professional 3D game artist. If you too are also a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog and hope to see more creatives rendering him in more realistic or imaginative ways please be sure to drop a like and pass the link on to anyone who you think may take an interest in seeing the final screenshots from in engine. The entire map was created from scratch using primarily Zbrush, Maya, Substance Painter, Substance Source with a little bit of blender to make use of its convenient text to mesh tools. The engine used for this project was Unreal Engine 5.0 Early Access version. There were quite a few challenges too due time constraints. I am not an animator so unfortunately there are no animations. I am also not VFX capable so the few elements that were borrowed from Unreal content were a selection of a few VFX effects carried over form the Infinity Blade add on content. All in all I really enjoyed this project from start to finish. Please leave a comment if you have any questions or crits for me to take note of in the next endeavour.
