I think it was his favorite tool, he used it for almost anything he had to work on, I remember he also used it in masonry to break the bricks. The adze definitely replaced the hammer for him, I rarely saw him using the hammer. I can be seen after wear how long it has been used. I’m sure he would have been glad to see it restored.
