Horrible today: Live Footage Kilauea volcano eruption unstoppable | toxic gas cloud flyings In Hawaii sky Kilauea volcano on Hawaii’s Big Island has erupted again after hours of seismic activity beneath the volcano’s peak. Lava began emerging from the top of the famous volcano located in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island, around 12:30 local time, prompting the USGS to raise the alert level to red. A red warning indicates that a volcanic eruption is occurring which has the potential to cause dangerous activity on land and in the air. Because of its remote location, the main hazards are airborne hazards related to gas emissions and windblown tephra (rock fragments) during the eruption, the USGS said. Volcanic activity is currently limited to the summit area, and no lava is visible from accessible areas in the park.
