US Missing, Russia & Others Swoop In As Outside Powers Shape Sudan Conflict, Foreigners Evacuated

The week-long crisis in Sudan continues, as several Western diplomats were evacuated by their governments on April 23. Over 420 people have been killed and over 3,700 wounded in the fighting between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Amid the ongoing fighting, airports have come under fire and the situation on the ground is unsafe. The fighting began after Sudan’s military, led by Lt Gen Abdel Fattah al-Burhan took up arms against RSF, led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo.
