Coiling Dragon. Dragon Staff

A nice set with emphasis on twirls. The only unfortunate part is that the staff is so thin it is barely visible during the demonstration sections of the video. Some one handed but mostly double handed twirls. Basically an intermediate level to advanced Shaolin style staff. Once again Sun’s expertise gives it flair and consistency with the Coiling Dragon style. Here is a style that combines “Internal“ arts such as BaGua with “external“ such as Shaolin. Coiling Dragon emphasizes flexibility and elongated muscles. The movements combine the powerful and the loose with an unusual harmony and balance. Not a lot of sets but each one significant. Demonstrator: Sun Xiang is a direct disciple in the Sun family of their Coiling Dragon inheritance. He is the official coach of the China Police University and his moves show a non-nonsense attitude.
