Take a look at my newest collection member, an upgraded Tandy 4825 SX. Instead of the stock 486SX/25 processor, it’s got a clock-tripling 75 MHz DX OverDrive chip, 20 MB of RAM, a CD-ROM drive, and a SoundBlater AWE-32 with 8 MB of its own RAM.
In this video, I run through how this machine differs from a stock 4825 SX, and show the three installed operating systems: OS/2 Warp 3.0, Windows 95 OSR2, and MS-DOS 3.1. I also show it running a few games (like Doom, Wolfenstein 3D, and One Must Fall 2097).
This machine will be included in our retro game nights, where we bring classic computers and classic game consoles out to enjoy games on their original platforms.
