This was Nobuhiro “Monster“ Tajima´s Suzuki XL7 Pikes Peak Version, one of the many Suzuki machines the charismatic Japanese driver built for the Pikes Peak. In this Classic bit of footage from 2007 and 2008, where the XL7 was raced, the 1020Hp/1020Nm Twin Turbo 1100Kg was the Overall winner on both occasions, although at the time still not breaking the infamous 10 minute barrier, posting a 10: in 2007 and 10: in 2008. Regardless, this was a true Monster and one that fills the imaginery of a whole generation alongside the Cultus, Escudo and SX4. For that, we can all be thankful for Mr. Tajima´s effort...
