Soooo I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted a video, and you might be wondering why that’s not a cello in the video! During my 4th year at university, I developed a mild but persistent injury in my left ulnar nerve. Thanks to some physical therapy I was able to get through my senior recital, and then I spent 9 months without touching the cello at all. Meanwhile, I had become increasingly interested in Baroque and Renaissance music. After my time away from the cello, I decided it was a good opportunity to start learning the viol () and really focus on those older styles. The way the viol is set up, it’s a lot gentler on my arm than cello is, and I love that it offers so many chord-playing possibilities but still lets me play beautiful melodies. DKC2 is one of my favorite games of all time, and David Wise’s Stickerbrush Symphony is probably my favorite tune from any video game. Enjoy! #dkc2 #violadagamba #donkeykongcou
