Chet Baker was once performing in northern Sweden. COMPLETE CONCERT

Believe it or not, amongst autumn leaves on August 22 in 1987, Chet Baker performed at a local jazz festival in Boden, up north in Sweden. What a long journey it must have been for Chet to travel that far and of course a huge event for the jazz fans in this quite small town. And for me personally, something I will never forget. Boden is a town in the northernmost part of Sweden, on the edge of the Arctic Circle – you might know it as the place where the midnight sun never sets. Except for having the great Mr Chet Baker visiting, Boden is also known as the place where the Norrbotten Big Band started. All those great musicians passing by Boden… It was a lovely experience sitting there on the bench in the Rotunda, listening to my number one solo jazz musician. Chet Baker - forever in my heart and always in my speakers.
