The New Years Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic is Austrias musical greeting to the world. On 1st January 2006 that greeting not only was a musical (conductor: Mariss Jansons), but also a visual sensation. Georg Rihas film Mozart 06, shown in the interval, presented the most important places in Wolfgang Amadés life in commemoration of the genius, whose 250th birthday was celebrated on 27 January 2006.
