Probably the best known road for cycling in the Santa Monica Mountains. I left this one til just about last before taking a crack at it. My friend Rafael (Descent Disciples Vol. 1 & Gravel Gods Ep. 2) had the record down there and I knew it was going to be a lot of hard work to top. We got the job done but as you can tell from me slumped over the bars as soon as I finish, it was as predicted, hard! It’s not a very steep descent and there is a short climb and flat section right in the middle plus a whole lot of pedaling either side of that. It’s one of the descents you have to pace correctly or you’ll run out of steam for the last mile where the gradient again turns fairly flat and usually has a slight head wind.
