The Barcode Pony, or: How To Actually Scan A Zebra

It began purely as a dad joke to embarrass my children in public, but to my great surprise, you can actually get a barcode scanning app to read a code from live Zebras! Most of this is probably due to the forgiving nature of the scanning app, designed as it no doubt is, to be able to cope with distorted or wrinkled barcodes on product packaging, and thus accidentally seeing barcodes where none were printed.
