I Subscribed to the KRTP Bee Health Monitoring Program

a Canadian Beekeeper’s Blog The KRTP (Knowledge Research and Transfer Program) is Manitoba’s equivalent to the Tech Transfer programs found across Canada and North America. This program is gear to develop services to beekeepers which promote better management practices which translates into healthier hives. One of those services that has been developed is a Bee Health Monitoring Program. With this service, the lead (Derek) visits the beekeeper’s operation twice per year (spring and fall) to take samples for a full spectrum disease diagnostics. This service allows Manitoba beekeepers to have continual full spectrum disease infection information at their fingertips which allows them to accurately track infection levels within their stock. With this information, beekeepers may be able to correlate their colony behavior and performance more accurately as they manage their hives.
