The World’s Tallest Man (1925)

A man who is 8ft 10 inches tall is the subject of this film. His chest measures 61 inches. His name is John Aason and he is 23 years old and weighs 36 stone. (These intertitles all at the beginning of the film before we see the giant man.) Aason really does look huge as he shakes hands with his tailor - he is a giant of a man. The tall man takes his jacket off so that the tailor can measure him. A step ladder has to be bought in so that the tailor can get high enough to take measurements. We see the man having his chest measured, his waist and his back are also measured. We then see the tailor measure his inside leg and the width of the bottom of his trousers. C/U of someone stepping out of one of the giant’s shoes (he has had both feet in one of the tall man’s shoes). Was Pathe Pictorial item. Safety print exists. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
