Israel claims responsibility for airstrike on ambulance convoy in Gaza

Israel has confirmed it carried out an airstrike on an ambulance convoy in the northern Gaza Strip. Video has emerged showing the aftermath of the explosion outside Al-Shifa Hospital in the northern part of the enclave. The Israel Defence Forces claims terrorists were travelling with the convoy, The IDF said one of its aircraft struck an ambulance “that was identified by forces as being used by a Hamas terrorist cell“. A spokesman from the Hamas-run health ministry have claimed that the ambulance struck by Israel was carrying injured people to be transferred to Egypt for treatment. An IDF spokesperson said “a number of Hamas terrorist operatives were killed in the strike.” Warning: this video contains distressing content.
