She auditioned for the role of the Pink Power Ranger in one of the many iterations of the kung-fu giant robot teen series Power Rangers and was second choice for the role, but didn’t get the role in the end (Jessica Rey was chosen). Instead she was cast as River Tam in Joss Whedon’s Firefly, that premiered that same year in 2002.
