Почему Перельман отказался от премии This is a story about Perelman, told in verse. The video uses frames in which people managed to capture the famous mathematician. The song says that Perelman loved his mother, he didn’t have friends; he solved the hypothesis; he used to wear a blue hat and liked kefir. Explaining why the scientist refused the cash prize, the author reads out the words of Perelman himself: «To put it very briefly, the main reason is disagreement with the organized mathematical community. I don’t like their decisions, I consider them unfair. I believe that the contribution of the American mathematician Richard Hamilton to solve this problem is no less than mine». Thus, the refusal of the award is interpreted by the author as a manifestation of a noble character.
