Let’s Make Ottawa a Wheelchair Accessible City

Many stores and buildings in Ottawa are not wheelchair accessible. Lack of accessibility prevents Ottawa citizens with physical disabilities from participating in the community. They become isolated, marginalized and are forced to access limited areas of city, such as big malls and large chain retailers. Wheelchairs users become disconnected from the local community, their neighbours, and the city at large. Practice conscious citizenship and promote community responsibility by telling Ottawa City council
