This late 1940s/early 1950s color travelogue style film was produced by Norman Schley, a skilled filmmaker from Wisconsin, who made a series of travel films under the moniker “Schley Ride“ and/or “Picturelogue.“ Some of his films aired on television, while others were shown in front of live audiences. This particular film takes viewers along on a trip of America’s southeastern states and their attractions like Florida, Alabama, Missouri, Georgia, Louisiana, and Virginia. The film opens with scenes from the Theater of the Sea, a marine mammal park located in the Village of Islamorada in the Florida Keys. Additionally Schley narrates as he continues on to visit New Orleans and Baton Rouge as well Colonial Virginia.
