Hello everyone. Welcome to a new video on this channel. Today’s video is only possible because of a good friend of mine who bought today’s system. His name is Peter, and he gave me 3 weeks to create this benchmark compilation video. So thanks a lot for that. I’m sure you’re going to be very happy using this system because your main use won’t be playing games. But since this is a gaming benchmark channel, let’s have a look at how Peter’s system is going to perform in 25 games.
We’re talking about the HP 255 G8 5B6R0ES. That’s a device with a Ryzen 7 5700U, 8GB of single-channel RAM, and a 512GB SSD. RAM is very important for this video, because I’ve already tested a 5700U system last year. But the system back then was running on dual-channel RAM. If you’re interested in the dual-channel RAM video, I’m going to link to that in the top right corner now but also in the video description. So I think it’s going to be very interesting for you people out there to see the 5700U running on a single channel.
First things first, I expected a way worse performance from the 5700U and the single channel RAM. There are a lot of AMD APU systems that would perform way worse. For example, the 5300U is really having a hard time performance-wise when paired with single channel ram. The 5700U overall did a solid job. Of course, you can’t expect heavy titles like Warzone, PUBG, Cyberpunk 2077, or Battlefield 2042 to run at all. In fact, these games crashed or ran at very bad FPS values. That’s why I’d call them unplayable. To be fair, especially Warzone and PUBG would benefit a lot from a dual-channel RAM to 16GB upgrade. This would make these titles ok playable. (Not well playable)
But the real surprise of this video is that 21 of my tested titles were actually ok or well playable. Even on this single channel RAM configuration.
So I can recommend the 5700U even with single-channel RAM for gaming in 2022. I would still strongly recommend upgrading to dual-channel RAM after some months or directly at the beginning if you’re planning to play on a regular basis. The performance increase is pretty huge in some titles. Up to 30, or even 40% in terms of FPS increase, is possible.
So yes, that’s it for my voiceover. I hope you’re going to like this test of 25 games on the 5700U. If you do, feel free to leave a like and consider subscribing to this channel. I hopefully see you all in the next one. Stay safe and have a great day. Goodbye.
