📃 Оригинальное описание:
Today, we report on the escalating protests in Nigeria.
Dubbed the “days of rage,“ these demonstrations have been fueled by the rising cost of living, deepening economic crises, and dissatisfaction with President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms.
Despite the government’s claims of only seven fatalities, Amnesty International reports that at least 13 people have been killed, with some local sources suggesting a toll as high as 17, and 175 others injured.
The protests, sparked by the removal of petrol subsidies and the ending of the local currency’s peg to the dollar, have led to severe economic repercussions, with over 700 arrests and claims of economic sabotage costing 500 billion naira.
As the government appeals for calm, the protesters, galvanized by social media and inspired by recent demonstrations in Kenya, remain resolute in their demand for change, promising to continue their activism until their grievances are addressed. This episode provides an in-depth analysis of the current unrest and its implications for Nigeria’s future.....
