Lele (the bird song) - Sakar Khan and Darra Khan

“Lele Amarkot ko Gai“ is a traditional wedding song that loosely translates to “the bird has flown to Amarkot“. Sakar Khan is in his late 70’s, a living legend and the finest of the kamancha players from the Manganiyar community. He is accompanied here by his son Darra Khan (recovering from a kidney transplant operation and hence the face-mask). Recorded in Jaisalmer district, Rajasthan, India. October 2011 field recordings, Amarrass Records. Visit for more great music!
