With FW 2023 / 2024 Collection, Max Mara pays tribute to French mathematician, physicist, and author Émilie du Châtelet (1706 – 1749), the free spirited Marquise, who explored the issues of the age: the education and social role of women, the afterlife, and human happiness. “She was a great intellect, above the scientists, a woman to be admired in so many ways. A lot of her discoveries are still relevant today, so that was the starting point for the collection”, says Max Mara’s Creative Director Ian Griffiths.
