Putin drives onto partially repaired Crimea Bridge and walks on parts hit by October explosion

President Vladimir Putin on Monday (December 5) drove across the Crimean Bridge linking southern Russia to the Crimean peninsula, less than two months after an explosion tore through the vital transport channel. Putin, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, walked along parts of the bridge. The 19-km road and rail bridge, which had been personally opened by Putin in 2018, was bombed on October 8 in an attack that was organized by Ukrainian military intelligence, according to Russia’s Federal Security Service. Ukrainian officials initially celebrated the explosion, but later denied responsibility. The explosion wrecked one section of the road bridge, temporarily halting traffic across the Kerch Strait. 500 workers, 3 floating cranes, 4 barges and 31 pieces of machinery are now working around the clock to repair the bridge, Khusnullin told Putin. __________________ ShanghaiEye focuses on producing top-quality contents.
