Filmmaker Ian Robertson tells the story of Dan and Zoe, a couple finding truth, courage and love where they least expected it -- underneath their dinner table. Dan and Zoe sit at a fancy French restaurant as a waiter brings them dessert. Dan says they didn’t order the creme caramel, but Zoe tells him to take it. She urges him as he takes small bites of it. Then, he cuts into the ring. Zoe is proposing to him. Suddenly, armed robbers burst in. The gunmen walk to their table and Zoe gives them everything in her purse and then her jewelry. Dan hands over his wallet, then pauses before tossing in the ring. The robbers go to the other tables. Zoe asks why Dan gave them the ring when the gunmen didn’t ask for it. Dan swears they said “anneau,“ or “ring“ in French. And Zoe asks to see the phrase book. She tells him “bague“ means “ring“ in French, not anneau. She calls him a liar.
