Painting a Tulip | Botanical Illustration with Talk-through Explanation of Process
Hey guys! Today I’m going to be painting a red and white tulip in mostly watercolor with some mixed media finishing touches. I’m not sure what this variety of tulip is called, but I think they’re gorgeous and I need to add some new work to my botanical portfolio, so I decided to paint one.
Here’s what I used:
- Cold pressed watercolor paper (Strathmore)
- Graphite pencil (Prismacolor Turquoise)
- Kneaded eraser
- Watercolor (Koi by Sakura)
- Markers (Copic and Prismacolor)
- Colored pencils (Prismacolor)
