Beyond the Basics of Italian Rapier: 4 Riposte Options [Dui Tempi Edition]

During last week’s “Beyond the Basics of Italian Rapier: The Defensive Fighter“ class , we looked at parrying & riposting our opponent’s attack in dui-tempo. It was requested that I shoot some video with a partner to demo each of these ripostes, so voila! This video covers: - Direct riposte against the opponent while they’re still in their lunge - Direct riposte as the opponent is recovering into their on-guard stance - Indirect riposte as the opponent recovers and counter-parries - Riposte via transport against an opponent who recovers with a high guard We show each action in slow form to begin, then at-speed in tempo as Block Drill. At the end of the video we demo what these four actions look like when doing it as an Option Drill. Special thanks to Anezka for being my demo fencer in this video!
