LIVE: Von der Leyen delivers statement following visit to the Pfizer’s plant in Puurs

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla and Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo are delivering press statements after a visit to the Pfizer plant in Puurs, where the COVID19 vaccine is manufactured by BioNTech/Pfizer, on Friday, April 23 ​. The company is set to deliver 250 million doses of its treatment to the European Union between April and June. As part of the EU vaccine strategy, the Commission will purchase 1.8 billion doses of the vaccine until 2023.
