Walking downtown St. Louis | Safe for tourists? When walking downtown St Louis one couldn’t help but wonder, is this city really safe for me? As tourists downtown we expected to feel uncomfortable with the area as we are both from a small town. But it just so happens that never happened. for tourists? Well just like anywhere that’s a big city you should keep your wits about you, we did see A LOT of trash, and A LOT of homeless people down in the park square. Not that they were doing anything, just our observations. Also nobody was out at night, maybe because of the bad reputation? Downtown has a very nice area called the Union Station, that has a large Ferris wheel to ride that you can walk too. This area is very safe for you and your family as it has the St. Louis Missouri aquarium. We were never approached by anyone that had bad intentions or felt uncomfortable. So we say go! Have a good time and be sure to stay smart about dressing up or flashing money just to be safe. M
