Carole Lombard and Kay Francis star as two points of a romantic triangle, centered on the triangle’s apex played by Cary Grant. Trapped in a loveless marriage to a venomous shrew (Francis, against type), Alec Walker (Grant) finds love with a young widow (Lombard), only to see his wife conspire to destroy his happiness. Co-stars the indispensable Charles Coburn as Alec’s father.
