Joe Morello on Conan O’Brien - Take Five

Great jazz drummer Joe Morello plays “Take Five“ by Paul Desmond on Late Night with Conan O’Brien in 1995. For years I only showed this to drum students, and am happy to be able to share it now. I often showed this to demonstrate that all drummers, no matter how great, will drop their stick at an inconvenient time. You just keep going! We all know what a musical drummer Joe was, but it has been especially refreshing to hear from students of his over the years, including Dan Gotlieb, of what a great teacher and inspiration he was as well.
