May 9, 2016 Norman to Shawnee Low Precipitation Supercell

A beautiful low precipitation (LP) supercell formed during the afternoon of May 9th, 2016 just east of Norman, Oklahoma. As the storm matured quickly, small shear funnels appeared over the National Weather Center. Some of the ragged rotation is shown briefly at the beginning of the video on Highway 9 just past OK 77H. Some time later, the storm demonstrated a dramatic mid-level rotating updraft with transient low-level rotation and associated funnels. A brief EF0 tornado touched down over Lake Thunderbird. Most of the video was shot along Highway 9; however, toward the end of the video, road options became somewhat limited forcing us to get well ahead of the storm. Even so, the storm was still dramatic from a distance. Once in Shawnee, OK, the storm became sheared off quickly ending the local threat of severe weather. This was shot exclusively with a GoPro camera. Please forgive the occasional shakiness.
