► “The song is based on the first emblem of “Atalanta Fugiens“ (1617), an unusual book written by Michael Maier in which alchemy and music come together in the investigation of the Secrets of Nature. In the womb of Boreas, the powerful North wind, an embryo grows, which, thanks to its multiple qualities, will surpass any heroic feat previously accomplished, if it manages to come to light. This element is sulphur: this, at Maier’s time, had just been discovered in Sicily. However, the enormous positive potential of sulfur is blended with the equally great risks linked to its toxicity.
