The navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has confirmed the seizure of a U.S. oil tanker. The Iranian Navy said that “a court order“ authorised the seizure of a U.S. oil tanker. The ship Suez Rajan was seized 50 nautical miles off Oman’s Sohar. The vessel, which is now in Iran’s custody, had been loaded with 145,000 metric tonnes of crude oil in Basra, Iraq.
