The lives we lead and the lives we project to the external world through social media, digital platforms, photographs and emojis. There is an expectation that one must always show what is beautiful and perfect to the people that surround us. Perception takes priority over honesty to a point where life itself may no longer be truthful. One of the leading causes for depression is unrealistic expectations of oneself, fed by digital projections of ideal lives.
