Dardashe + Tarab — Episode 5: Rima Baransi + Carol Ibrahim — Full Dance
Rima Baransi is a Palestinian-Berlin based dancer and choreographer. She joined Sareyyet Ramallah dance company in 2012, and is currently working on different projects between Europe and Palestine.
Baransi choreographed a dance for PIPD that captures the feeling of lockdown in Palestine during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rather than chat with her, Baransi’s dance speaks for itself.
Carol Ibrahim is a Palestine-based violinist. She studied at the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music since the age of 9. She won first place in Marcel Khalifeh Competition in 2006, and has performed with the Palestine Youth Orchestra in several famous halls, including the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. She currently teaches violin to Palestinian students, many of whom live in refugee camps.
