Sword and Shield sparring Nick vs Mike

Sparring using shields as were commonly used by the Vikings and Saxons and many other nations in Europe and beyond. There is not a single known surviving treatise detailing how these punch grip shields were used. However we are sparring with them with the knowledge of renaissance shield and buckler combat. Therefore this isn’t claiming to be a certain style, as we will likely never know what sword and shield styles looked like from the era of these weapons.
