Somali Pirates Attack German Naval Supply Ship

Somali pirates make the mistake of attacking the German naval tanker FGS SPESSART on 29 March 2009. They were subsequently were hunted down by Dutch, Spanish, Greek and US - NATO and EU - warships and helicopters in the area, 85 miles north of the Somali port of Bosasso. This NATO video footage was recorded aboard the Dutch frigate ’De Zeven Provincien’ during a naval operation that led the arrest of about Somali pirates at the end of March 2009. This footage was made available by NATO.
