Yazz Ahmed: live session VG Turning East

Yazz Ahmed from the UK is a composer and a trumpet (flugelhorn) player. On her latest album ’La Saboteuse’ she is diving into her Bahraini roots, but also using futuritsic sound design and electronics. She played with her band at the Turning East festival November 2017, in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. For Vrije Geluiden they played two pieces: ’The Space Between The Fish and The Moon’ and ’The Lost Pearl’ which is an ode the the pearl divers of Bahrain.
