A noteworthy solar flare reaching very close to the X1.0 threshold (M9.8) was detected around AR 3500 at 19:50 UTC (Nov 28). An Earth directed, asymmetrical halo CME was observed in LASCO imagery and an impact past Earth should be expected within 72 hours. This could prolong possible geomagnetic storming already in the forecast thanks to multiple eruptions on November 27th. Stay tuned to for the latest updates.
