This walk during the second heatwave in Germany, Düsseldorf, was filmed in August 2022 at 33°C! The beautiful city of Düsseldorf is a regional hub for banking, advertising, fashion, shopping in the German state North Rhine-Westphalia. It offers an huge amount of cultural variety, many shopping and leisure options and also a splendid nightlife. Here I am walking within the city center on a hot summer day from the famous Königsallee shopping boulevard to the Carlsplatz market place, and then heading to the Altstadt, which is well-known for its bars, restaurants and more than 200 bars & beer taverns, many of which serve a proprietary version of Düsseldorf city’s brew of choice: The Altbier. This walk then continues at the picturesque Rhine embankment promenade and ends around the KÖ-Bogen II area. Most visitors to Germany are only willing to explore the popular urban hotspots like Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and its rival, Cologne. But this confident city is more than deserving of attention. Düsseldorf also houses the largest Japanese community in Germany. Many locals, business people, manga fans, otakus and food lovers from all over the world come together here to enjoy Japanese Ramen noodle soup, Sushi, Sake and Altbier.
