Pianist Monty Alexander, born on 6th June 1944 in Kingston, Jamaica, grew up with raggae and calypso music and the the music of Louis Armstrong and Nat king Cole. At the 1979 North Sea Jazz Festival he played with his Quartet featuring a.o. Frank Gant (drums), Bobby Thomas (percussion) Among the tracks played are: “Honey suckle rose“ “Isn’t she lovely“.
