Mud and Blood

#grimdark #synth #rock Who holds the line? Loosely inspired by Im Westen Nichts Neues (All Quiet on the Western Front) Ripped from the dirt, a farmer’s daughter turned prey Conscripted to the fight, another bloody day Rifle in my hands, a weight I never knew A scared young soul, with nothing left to lose Drill sergeant screams, his voice a thunderclap Breaking down my spirit, shattering the map Of the life I knew, the dreams I left behind Now just a number, in a world unkind Mud and blood, my new reality Lost in the trenches, a twisted symphony For king and country, they say we must obey But in the face of death, what more can I say? Shipped off to war, a distant barren land Against the alien horde, a final stand The ground trembles, explosions fill the air Fear grips my heart, a heavy, crushing despair Through smoke and fire, I charge with my squad Brothers in arms, our spirits never trod Bullets whizzing past, a chorus of deadly rain In the name of honor, we’ll fight and die in vain Wounded and bleeding, but my spirit remains A flicker of defiance, amidst the endless pain For the fallen comrades, their memory enshrined In this brutal war, our souls forever entwined Is this the glory they promised, a hero’s name? Or just a pawn in their game, a sacrifice in the flame? I question my purpose, my will starts to fray But for my brothers, I’ll fight another day The battle rages on, the outcome unknown But one thing’s for sure, I’ll never be alone For in this hellish war, we’ve forged a bond so deep Mud and blood, our oath we’ll forever keep.
