Auto Page Turner (1950)

St Mary’s Hospital, London. A 9-year-old girl called Anne Wheddon lies in a hospital bed being shown how to use an automatic page turner so she can read a book. Good shot of a plug being put into an electric socket and switched on. A nurse attaches strings to each page of the book then Anne presses a button which makes a motor wind the string up on a roller, and so turn a page of the book. Note: the nurse seems to be in Order of St John uniform; commentator says that hospital libraries are run by volunteers organised by the Order of St John and the Red Cross.
