M/S of a small boat stopping alongside a snow-covered quay; men in old fashioned costumes wait on the quayside; one holding a scroll. Several women in 17th century costume (bonnets and shawled dresses), holding collection boxes, and men in various kinds of fancy dress (American Indian, Canadian Mountie) get out of the boat and are greeted by the others. The women crouch down while one of the men spouts off, religious evangelist-style. A man with a huge false moustache and kind of town crier costume reads from the scroll. L/Ss show different floats in the ’rag’ procession through the centre of Nottingham, all with an American theme - prohibition, movie making, pierot prison inmates (?) - and all under a heavy snowfall!
