Item title reads: “First Women’s Boat Race. Over Varsity Course.... in broken water and despite headwind, both crews, Ace and Weybridge finish fit as fiddles. Weybridge win by 5 lengths in splendid time of 26 mins 57 secs.“ Putney to Mortlake M/S but rather dark of the girls as they carry the boat out. They look smart in sailor tops with culottes or shorts and socks. They are seen rowing at pace along the Thames. There are sailing boats about,and they row fast against choppy waters around one bend.
