East Of Suez (1934)

(Pathetone main titles.) Titles read: “Now for a minute of Life - East of Suez.“ Exact locations of events unknown - various places east of Suez! On a street in unidentified location (could be Singapore? Chinese-style writing on signs) we see a police man with a wicker board across his back directing traffic. In a rural location (India?), cattle walk round in circles to work machinery. In the same area a man walks up and down a plank to work a water pump. Water buffalo are seen in a lake or river. In Singapore we see hundreds of small boats on the river, clustered around a Malay village on stilts. We see some men playing a kind of tennis game, standing in small boats and batting a ball to one another with their boat paddles. One man jumps in after hitting the ball.
